The Ultimate Guide to Product Render Accuracy & Image Fixes

Written by Erika

At Riverflow, we strive for industry-leading precision. While our model is the most accurate on the market, no current AI image model is 100% accurate at all times. This guide provides a detailed breakdown of every use case and the specific workflows required to achieve professional-grade results.

The Diagnostic Rule: Identify the Issue First

Before spending credits on edits, determine exactly what needs fixing:

  • Label, text, or logo detail? (Garbled text, wrong flavor name, front artwork)

  • Product shape or proportions? (Bottle height, pouch silhouette, cap/lid shape)

  • Product size or realistic scale in the scene?

  • Number of products or composition?

Tool Definitions:

  • Fix Product Details: For labels, logos, text, flavor names, and front artwork.

  • Swap Product: For product shape, proportions, size, and silhouettes.

Detailed Solutions by Use Case

Use Case #1: Fix labels, logos, or text in single product shots

  • Action: Use Fix Product Details.

  • Workflow: Use a high-quality PNG of the label.

  • Constraint: Use ONLY the visible part of the artwork where possible (e.g., front label only, not the full wraparound).

  • Correct for:

    • Wrong flavor name

    • Garbled label text

    • Incorrect logo

    • Front artwork not matching the real product

  • CRITICAL WARNING: DO NOT use Fix Product Details to fix product shape, proportions, cap shape, bottle height, pouch shape, or product size.

  • Example:

    • Before vs After:

Use Case #2: Fix product shape, size, or proportions

  • Action: Use Swap Product.

  • Workflow: Select the same product again

  • Correct for:

    • The bottle is too short/tall

    • The pouch is too wide/thin

    • The cap or lid shape is wrong

    • The product looks stretched or squashed

    • The product silhouette is not accurate

  • Tips:

    • If the scene is very zoomed in, the AI may squash the product to make it fit. Try to change the aspect ratio to create more space, then use Swap Product.

    • If the product is in a hand or crowded with props, try a simpler scene first

  • Example:

    • Before vs After:

Use Case #3: Product size is unrealistic in the scene

  • Action: Change the scene and regenerate

  • Reason: This is usually a scene/composition issue, not a label issue

  • Workflow (try these in order):

    • Change the aspect ratio to create more room

    • Choose a scene where the product has enough space

    • Choose a scene with a similar sized object already in it

    • Generate 4 candidates

    • Pick the best one, then use Swap Product if needed

  • Helpful prompt examples:

    • "Keep the product upright and front-facing"

    • "Do not crop the top or bottom of the product"

    • "Keep the product realistic in scale relative to the hand"

    • "Leave clear space around the product"

  • CRITICAL WARNING: DO NOT use Fix Product Details

Use Case #4: Fix labels in multi-product shots

  • Action: Use Fix Product Details.

  • Workflow: Use a high-quality PNG for each visible label/front artwork

  • Constraint: labels are harder when there are multiple products

  • It works best when:

    • Products are front-facing

    • Products are not overlapping

    • The labels are large enough to read

    • The scene is not too busy

  • Tips:

    • If the product shapes are wrong, use Swap Product first

    • If all products are wrong, it is normally faster to regenerate than to keep fixing the same image

  • Example:

    • Before vs After:

Use Case #5: Create images with 2–4 products

  • Action: Generate multiple candidates

  • Workflow:

    • Generate 4 candidates

      • Usually, some will be much stronger than others

    • Pick the best base image first

      • Correct number of products

      • Good product shapes

      • Good composition

      • Enough space around each product

    • Then fix details:

      • Label/text/logo issue = Fix Product Details

      • Product shape/proportion issue = Swap Product

  • Tips:

    • Keep the shot simpler than a single-product image

    • Avoid stacking lots of edits on a weak image - If the base is bad, remix or regenerate instead

Use Case #6: Create images with more than 4 products

  • Workflow:

    • Generate 4 candidates

    • Pick scenes that already have a similar number of products

    • Keep the layout simple

    • Avoid overlapping products

    • Do not expect every small label to be perfect

  • Constraint: this is very hard for AI to get exactly right; For final exact product details, the customer may need Photoshop or our artworking service

  • Tips:

    • If there is no suitable scene, use the Images area to create an initial composition, then either keep that image or re-upload it as a scene

Use Case #7: Incorrect label shape

  • Workflow:

    • First check what is actually wrong

    • If the product shape is correct but the artwork/text is wrong:

      • Use Fix Product Details

      • Use a clean PNG of the visible label/front artwork

    • If the product body is wrong and that is causing the label shape to warp:

      • Use Swap Product first

      • Do not use Fix Product Details yet

    • If there are multiple products and every label shape is wrong:

      • Regenerate or remix first

      • Do not try to fix every label on a bad base image

Use Case #8: Image degrading after multiple edits

  • Action: Stop editing that version and go back to the best earlier generation.

  • Workflow:

    • Stop editing that version

    • Go back to the best earlier generation

    • Or regenerate/remix from the original setup

    • Then apply only one fix at a time

    • Recommended order:

      • Get the composition right

      • Get the product shape/proportions right

      • Then fix label/text details last

  • Tips:

    • Do not keep applying Fix Product Details or Swap Product to an image that is already degraded

Use Case #9: Troubleshooting - Fix Product Details is Not Working

  • Workflow:

    • Check if the tool is being used for the correct problem.

      • It is CORRECT for: Label text, logos, front artwork, and flavor names.

      • It is NOT CORRECT for: Product shape, dimensions, count, scene composition, or size relative to props/hands.

  • Action:

    • If Used Correctly: Please contact support with the Render link, the Original product/label file, a Screenshot of the wrong output, and What you expected to happen.

Use case #10: Achieving Final, Exact Product Accuracy

  • Be clear: Riverflow can get very strong product imagery, but some outputs still need final artworking when exactness is critical

  • This is especially true for:

    • Retailer images

    • Ecommerce packshots

    • Compliance-heavy labels

    • More than 4 products

    • Tiny label text

    • Curved, reflective, or transparent packaging

  • Best workflow:

    • Use simple scenes

    • Keep products front-facing

    • Generate 4 candidates

    • Pick the strongest base

    • Use Swap Product for shape/proportion issues

    • Use Fix Product Details for label/text issues

    • Use Photoshop or artworking service if every detail must be exact
