Use this guide when you already have a generated or uploaded video in Riverflow and want to make final edits before downloading or using it in a campaign.
The video editor is a timeline editor. It is used for assembling and timing layers on top of a video. It is not an AI prompt editor for changing the content of the video itself.
If you want to create a new video, use Create Videos. If you already have a video and want to add text, logos, images, audio, or extra clips, use the video editor.
Open A Video
Open the video you want to edit. From the video preview, choose the editor action to open it in the timeline editor.
What You Can Do In The Video Editor
Once you are in the editor, you can build a video by adding layers and controlling when each layer appears on the timeline.
You can use the editor to:
add text layers, such as hooks, captions, claims, CTAs, or end-card copy
add logo layers or image layers on top of the video
add audio, such as a voiceover, music bed, or generated MP3
control when each text, image, logo, or audio layer starts and ends
add other videos to stitch multiple clips together
preview the full video while you adjust timing
save the edited version when the timeline is ready
Add Text, Logos, Or Images
Use visual layers when you need to place copy, branding, product images, badges, cutouts, or other assets on top of the video.
Add the layer you need.
Choose or enter the asset, logo, image, or text.
Position it on the video.
Adjust the layer timing on the timeline.
Play the video back to check that the layer appears at the right moment and does not cover important product detail.
Keep text short enough to read during playback. If the viewer needs more time to read it, either shorten the copy or keep the text on screen for longer.
Add Audio
Use audio when you need a voiceover, music bed, sound cue, or generated MP3 track.
Add an audio layer.
Choose the audio file you want to use.
Move it to the correct start point on the timeline.
Trim it if needed.
Play the video back to check the audio timing against the visuals.
If you need to create a new audio file first, use Create Audio, then bring the exported MP3 into the video editor where supported.
Stitch Videos Together
Use video layers when you want to connect multiple clips into one edited output.
Add the extra video clip.
Place it at the right point on the timeline.
Trim the start or end if needed.
Play the sequence from the beginning to check the timing.
Save The Edited Video
When the layers and timing are ready, save the video.
Saving creates an edited version. Before saving, play the video from the beginning and check that text, logos, images, clips, and audio all appear at the intended moments.
