How to Improve Product Text Accuracy

How to Improve Product Text Accuracy

Written by Erika

AI image models can create strong product visuals, but small text is still one of the hardest details to preserve. If the result is close, try one of the workflows below before regenerating from scratch.

Option 1: Edit the image with a strong reference

Use this when the image is mostly right and you want to correct text or label details.

  1. Open the image in Preview.

  2. Click Edit.

  3. Attach a high-quality product reference, render, or flat artwork file.

  4. Use a direct prompt like this:

Change only the product text and label details that are incorrect.

Preserve everything else:
- product geometry
- exact proportions
- cap or closure shape
- camera angle
- lighting direction
- shadow structure
- label boundaries
- material finish
- background

Replace the visible product text with exactly:
"[insert the exact text here]"

Keep the typography, label placement, colors, and packaging layout faithful to the reference image. Do not redesign the product or change the scene.
  1. Select the Riverflow 2.5 Pro High, xHigh or Chat GPT Image 2 models.

  2. Generate.

Option 2: Use mask-based editing

Use this when only one part of the product needs fixing, or when there are multiple products in one image.

  1. Open the image in Preview.

  2. Click Edit.

  3. Use the pen tool to mask the product or label area you want to fix.

  4. Attach a high-quality reference image or artwork file.

  5. Use the same prompt above.

  6. Generate.

Masking is useful because it tells Riverflow which part of the image should change, while protecting the rest of the scene.

Attached is an image of what you will see when a mask is applied.

Option 3: Use Fix Product Details

Use this when the generated image is close, but the product artwork needs to be corrected more precisely.

Fix Product Details works best when you upload a high-quality reference of the exact visible artwork. Either a 2D artwork file, or a very high quality render are advised.

Use it when you need to fix:

  • blurry or incorrect label text

  • distorted logos

  • wrong claims or icons

  • incorrect artwork placement

  • packaging details on one or more visible products

For best results:

  • upload one reference per product

  • use a clean, high-resolution artwork or render

  • avoid uploading several references for the same product

  • use up to four references if the image contains multiple products or visible sides

Avoid long editing loops

If the first fix does not work, avoid spending lots of credits repeating the same edit.

Instead:

  • regenerate a few fresh candidates

  • simplify the requested change

  • use a cleaner product reference

  • try Fix Product Details with better artwork

  • contact support if the product is still not accurate
